Stack said the students’ ideas at FlashStarts vary greatly, from healthcare companies and one that offers independent films online to a company that plans to develop software for major corporations that will increase database performance by 10 times.

Accelerator participants offered varying reasons for applying for the summer opportunity, but Stack believes he knows why they decided to spend the summer with him.

“The reason they would come here is I have experience in taking an idea to a multimillion dollar acquisition,” he said.
