My internship at FlashStarts has been great!

While there were several teams and interns at FlashStarts, I was part of a team called Anigraphic, a company with the goal of reimagining graphic storytelling. This startup offered a tool to bring graphic stories to life—a digital editor for artists and writers to enhance their art, imagery, and stories.

My basic responsibilities were anything and everything art related. I illustrated an interactive graphic children’s book and helped design the company’s identity by creating a logo, business cards and other visuals assets for the company.

The FlashStarts Atmosphere

The environment at FlashStarts was very high energy, open, and—most importantly—very collaborative. Every day would consist of working with my team and tossing ideas back and forth. This type of communication was crucial to help get the company off of the ground. Deadlines also played a big role, especially as I was working in a group.

During my time at FlashStarts, certain events were held, like Lunch & Learns where mentors or guest speakers would be invited to give a talk or schedule meetings with the teams. These types of things were very beneficial to my team as it helped us become aware of our progress.

Charlie, Jen, and Jodi are beyond helpful, friendly, and open. Overall, they are a strong supportive group to help guide you through this internship.
