AIME: A Well-Decorated Company

AIME, or Artificial Intelligence in Medical Epidemiology, has an incredible mission: to prevent disease. Using a platform that provides users with exact geolocation, the company is able to predict disease with an accuracy of 86.37%. This proactive approach to disease control has been tested in two countries with success, targeting the wide-spreading disease dengue, which 40% of the world’s population is at risk of.[pullquote]The company is able to predict disease with an accuracy of 86.37%[/pullquote]

And their mission and success has certainly not gone unnoticed.

IMG_1743Pistoia Allianca, a global non-profit agency that makes research and development easier, hosts the Mini Startup Challenge each year, which seeks to recognize promising startups in life sciences and healthcare. AIME was the grand-winner this year, taking 10,000 euros, in addition to months of mentorships and joint publicity opportunities.

But Pistoia Alliance isn’t the only group to support AIME.

The company was also featured in the Clinton Global Initiative University, launched by Bill Clinton in 2007. Rainier Mallol, the president of AIME, got the chance to share his vision of a healthier future with the former president himself.

Recently, the group was even the 1st Prize Winner out of 2,795 teams at the TIC AMERICAS-Dominican Republic, a competition held by the Organization of the American States, under the Young Americas Business Trust, and during the General Assembly of the OAS. AIME’s success on such a big stage clearly makes them the cream of the crop.
