With Labor Day weekend now concluded and summer transitioning into fall, we at Flashstarts are also transitioning from our Labs program to the 2016 Accelerator. Flashstarts’ unique startup accelerator accepts one-to-four person teams, swaps a $25,000 investment for 8% equity, and provides teams with hands-on coaching from its co-founders until a public Demo Day.
Truth be told, we love change and could not be more excited to get started with our newest portfolio companies!
The 2016 Accelerator kicked off on Tuesday, September 6th at StartMart where our five Accelerator teams met for an introduction to the program and each other. Throughout the day, each company introduced their team and gave a brief pitch. In keeping with our areas of expertise, each of the companies uses technology in an innovative way as an essential component of their value proposition.
The 2016 Flashstarts Accelerator Companies are:
Komae: a social app for exchanging babysitting services with friends.
Drive My Way: An online recruiting service that matches CDL truck drivers with available jobs based on qualifications and personal preferences.
Wheedle: Allows for business to compete for business and offer direct marketing to its customers.
Parihug: A company that manufactures electronically-connected teddy bears that let loved ones hug each other from a distance.
Markers: Is building a software that pulls together all of the documents and information needed for Investor Relations officers at public companies.
