Making Virtual Reality Accessible

Holohack VRHolohack, a Danish company currently working with Flashstarts labs, is quickly gaining success in their mission to make virtual reality for home-purposes available to everyone. The man behind the idea, Dimitar Genov, founded the company in 2014 after a frustrating building experience of his own. Fascinated by the potential of virtual reality, Genov began brainstorming ideas on how he might help others avoid home-building frustrations and achieve their dream home, with Holohack being the final result.

Over the past 20 years, virtual reality has been on the rise as an available technology for purposes such as entertainment, medicine, and education. One industry that has been using the technology at an increasing rate is real estate and architecture. VR gives these firms the ability to not only visualize but actually experience their future project, so they may avoid costly alterations once the building process been started. But Genov felt that the technology shouldn’t be limited to architects and real estate executive officers—it should be easy-to-use and available to everyday homeowners.

Holohack is a web-based platform that makes this possible, by converting any 3D or architecture file into a virtual reality experience. Users are able to customize their future home with furniture, decor and appliances from established brands.

Disruptive technology

Holohack keeps track of these customizations and provides the user with an approximation of the total cost and even gives customers access to its technology from any location through any computer.

Whenever a consumer wants to virtually experience their future home, they can notify their real estate office who will provide an access to Holohack with an account and password. From there, the technology is paired with a pair of virtual reality glasses to produce an entirely immersive and interactive architectural experience.

The company’s success has grown quickly in these past two years, already forming partnerships with several architecture firms, furniture brands and most notably, HTC Vive. Genov and the Holohack team continue to work tirelessly toward their goal of bringing VR straight into your living room.
