Global EIR Program

geir-logoAmerican colleges and universities are competing globally for top talent. Flashstarts’ Global Entrepreneur-In-Residence (Global EIR) program provides colleges and universities with a mechanism to increase global outreach and expand entrepreneurship offerings to students. Through this program, academic institutions leverage the expertise and experience of international entrepreneurs who serve as technical experts and mentors for students.

How it Works:

For universities:

International entrepreneurs dedicate 20 hours of their experience and expertise per week toward the universities’ mission. Contribution includes mentorship and office hours, published research, and facilitating collaboration between universities and industry.

For International Entrepreneurs:

In return, the entrepreneurs receive an H-1B visa that is not subject to the visa lottery. Through this program, foreign entrepreneurs are able to develop their business ventures in the U.S. without worrying about their immigration status.

Community Benefits:

Flashstarts has launched the Global EIR program in Northeast Ohio in order to serve as a resource for our local collegiate entrepreneurship programs and encourage international entrepreneurs to build their businesses in our region.

Our Role:

These entrepreneurs are given full access to our mentorship network and the expertise of our executive team as well as the potential for funding from investors in our network. We’re here to build innovative, world-changing startups, support our local entrepreneurship programs, create wealth, and help revitalize our economy.
